How do you keep new words and you will never forget them?
6 answers from our tutors
To remember new words, I focus on contextual learning by using them in sentences, spaced repetition with flashcards, and active practice through speaking or writing. I also create mnemonics for tricky words and reinforce them by teaching or sharing with others. This multi-step approach helps solidify them in my memory.
The following strategies can be used to retain new words and minimize the chance of forgetting: 1) Create visual images related to the words to help you remember them. 2) Write new words along with their meanings and example sentences in a vocabulary journal for frequent review. 3) Use new words in your writing and spoken communication to make them stick. 4) Explain new words to someone else to reinforce your understanding.
