For the first lesson, I centre it to the students day-to-day activities, likes and dislikes, hobbies.
I like to prepare fun activities and colorful material make learning exciting . I usually start by introducing myself and sharing some interesting facts about me so we can get know each other better.Its also important to make a big , bright welcome signs to greet everyone at the door .

Hello! I do it meticulously, because for me is important to be confident. I try to create a friendly atmosphere in the lesson. In the first class, I try to get acquainted with the student. And I prepare some material that refers to the subject. It helps me understand the level of language that student has.
For the first lesson I like to keep it fun and relaxed! I usually start with a quick Introductory chat, so please do expect a fun, kind and bubbly teacher throughout your lessons. This is how how get to know m students goals and interest and I often like to throw in a fun activity or game but it usually differs to my students interest.
First lessons are always different. Some student come in shy and some come in ready for an adventure. Either ways I aim to make sure to create a safe space and meet every student specific needs, by starting off the conversations and getting to know the student. Also, I ensure that my students learn at least 3 things before the end of the lesson as well as not going off topic.
Normally, first lessons I bond with my student, I let them explain their needs and I prepare few activities to help me check their level as well.

I’ll get a plan ready and get ideas from here, or other sites. First when someone requests I’ll ask if they’ve done a placement test. If they haven’t I’ll get them to do it. Some people want to go over some specifics like the speed of the Irish accent. I’ll get some taster lesson ready.
