Hello all, where do you think your passion for teaching comes from, besides being born a teacher?

  • My passion? Probably from realising I could talk for hours and people had to listen. On the real, I think from those "Aha" moment when a student's eye brighten up and I know I have struck a chord as they finally get it. Way more exciting than a standing ovation. This my friend, is a calling, not just any job...or maybe just a way to make up for being a Mr Know-It-All as a kid.

  • I love explaining stuff. It covers any area of my proficiency (I'm good with math and finance (have a degree in economics)). I love the feeling I get when my listener shows the first signs of understanding: the shining in their eye, the little changes in their face. That's the thing that keeps me going.

  • It is about collaboration and sharing insights for me. When I realise I make a difference it motivates me to go forward and improve my teaching skills.

  • Hi!! Funny story, a few years ago I never thought that I'd ever be a teacher! But looking back to my childhood, it was meant to be. I used to play pretend at being a teacher when I was in primary school, both at home alone and with my friends. And then a couple of years ago I became a teacher's assistant for a Grade 1 class and that just ignited the passion for teaching that I didn't know I had.
