I'm from Rio de Janeiro. I'm 31 years old. Like the vast majority of Latin Americans, I'm descended from Europeans (in my case, Italians, Swiss and Portuguese), Africans and Native Americans. The fact that I lived in Singapore as a child was certainly the seed for my desire to learn Mandarin. I also visited Argentina and Uruguay. There I was able to get to know Spanish-American music better, which sharpened my Spanish. My father was always aware of the importance of learning foreign languages, so I remember learning them from a very young age. First English, then French and so on. I also enjoy studying History, Philosophy, Psychology and Geography, bathing in rivers and waterfalls, playing sports, especially basketball and rugby, and also playing board games. I started teaching English in 2017, in private classes. Very quickly, I set up a class and was soon called to teach the employees and children served by the German NGO Humedica at its day care center in Brazil. At Humedica, I was also the translator who managed communication between the headquarters in Germany and its leadership in Brazil. Shortly before the pandemic, I started teaching my native language specifically to Chinese people, both children and adults. Since then, I have taught mainly with material aimed at Mandarin speakers. My classes complement students' daily or weekly study. I seek a balance between the four skills (listening, writing, speaking/pronunciation and reading). The Brazilian Portuguese teaching materials available on the market lack a very important element, which I correct and adapt for the material provided in my classes. I also have quality material for teenagers.
