Hello, everyone! I’m Dasha and I’m a native Russian speaker. I’ve been living in EU for 4 years and got a Bachelor degree in translation and interpretation (English and Russian). My professors at university have taught me so much and I've been very inspired to become a teacher myself and share my experience of learning a language, which is mainly based on playing video games and watching TV series. English, my first foreign language, became a huge part of my life. Because of it, I was able to learn so much about the world outside my home country, meet so many people, enjoy my favorite games and tv series in original language and finally move to Slovakia and finish my university here. I learned English by playing video games, watching YouTube videos, tv series with dual subtitles, translating and writing down unknown words and sentences, studying grammar with a help of an online tutor, and that was the best way for me. I had lots of fun. I've been teaching English and Russian in person and online for a few months. I also teach at a private language school, where I have students of all ages. You can tell me via messages what’s your level and what would you like to do on the first lesson, so we can figure out the best teaching method for you. - Why do you want to study Russian (we'll learn vocabulary and language style that fits your needs); - What do you think is your language level; - Is there is something particular you want to focus on (speaking, grammar, reading...) - What do you like to watch/read/play; - Do you want to be corrected when you speak (for some people it's better to not to be interrupted, in this case I'll write down your mistakes and we discuss them at the end of our class. I personally always prefer to be corrected when I speak, this way I remembered my mistakes better. If you're nervous, when you speak a foreign language, you can tell me :) So, I want our lessons to be based on your favorite video games, movies, books, YouTube videos, etc. I’ll come up with lesson plans based on your interests, preferences, needs and language level. We can also have grammar lessons, I will explain a grammatical topic to you using my own presentations (or we can use textbook of your choice) and we’ll practice it together. In my presentations I include different types of exercises. If you’re a complete beginner we can start by learning the alphabet. Or our classes can be purely conversational. We can talk about a book you’ve read, play a video game and communicate in Russian, or do something else. I will analyze the mistakes you make most of the time and at the end of each class we can discuss them. Thank you and I’m looking forward to meeting you! :)
