Arianna

Hello! My name is Arianna and I’m 24. I am currently living in Spain where I am doing a traineeship in neuroscience and writing my master thesis. During my student’s career, I’ve always tried to live in different places to always be able to connect with different people with different background and interests and this is also one of the reason which make me want to invest in this teaching experience. Since when I was 16, when I lived for my first time abroad in Canada, I’ve never stopped to peruse the dream to connect to as many different cultures and languages as I can and that’s why I decided to come in Spain to finish my master and the reason that is motivating me to move in another country as I get my graduation. In the past years I’ve always helped people of different ages with English or homework and I had the luck to teach in a middle school for a month. I volunteered for a little while in a school for teaching Italian to foreigners and now, I am teaching Italian to my Irish boyfriend. The CEDILS course give me a great preparation about the organization of my lessons and it gave me also very interesting insight on how our brain work while we are learning which is something I always keep in mind while preparing my classes. During my lessons, I prefer using conversation over exercises and grammar rules even tho, sometimes are also needed. I like to use game when possible and i like to learn the learning type I have in front of me to adapt to what suits my students the most. I also try to understand what are the interests of my students and I use them to make my classes more interesting using Italian as a tool to also learn something about the topic my students like.
