I am Seher, I live in Istanbul. I am a senior student of international relations in Turkey. Since I studied international relations, I made many foreign friends and taught them Turkish. This was a very humanitarian act for my foreign friends. I gave them the confidence to speak freely. I love spending time with people and learning new languages. I stayed in Poland for 4 months as part of the Erasmus program and visited 8 different countries. I love meeting new people and chatting. I prefer to use communicative methods in teaching Turkish. My priority is for the language to be learned naturally and to be usable in daily life. Therefore, in my lessons, I employ interactive methods such as games, dialogues, and practical speaking activities. For example, I ensure that students practice with real-life scenarios like shopping, ordering at a restaurant, or chatting with friends. This helps them develop their language skills while also gaining confidence. Seeing my students succeed is the greatest reward for me. Watching students who knew no Turkish at the beginning start to speak fluently within a few months is a clear indication that I am on the right path. Their success also increases my professional satisfaction. During my time teaching Turkish, I've also organized cultural exchange events where students can immerse themselves in Turkish culture through cooking classes, traditional music sessions, and local excursions. With all the necessary materials and my books, I offer a unique experience where you can use your speaking, listening, and reading skills. I also make sure to give homework at the end of each class. I progress with simple speaking methods without boring you with grammar issues. By speaking clearly in my lessons, I ensure that the student hears and digests each word. I write simultaneously while the student is speaking so that they can see their mistakes. Additionally, by integrating cultural elements into my lessons, I ensure that students get to know not only the language but also Turkish culture. In this way, the language learning process becomes more meaningful and interesting for them. I am patient and tolerant when discussing Turkish food, holidays, traditions, and daily life.
