Hello, I'm Nanxiang, and my English name is Michael. Chinese is my native language, and I am passionate about teaching. My father, sister, and brother are all educators as well. I lived and worked abroad for many years, and now I reside in China, where I love my job. In my spare time, I have many hobbies such as learning about different cultures, traveling, skiing, and trying new foods. I've visited many countries and look forward to sharing my diverse experiences with you. I have two years of experience teaching Chinese. My students come from various countries. I divide my lessons into four main categories: Children: I utilize simple textbooks such as YCT and Huawen, along with pictures and videos to maintain their engagement. As children can easily become distracted, this method helps them focus and learn effectively through enjoyable games, like distinguishing colorful flashcards, recognizing objects in pictures, and playing weather-related games. I will create a plan based on each child’s learning goals. Whether a child wants to learn pinyin or basic daily conversations, I have corresponding courses for each. Teens and Adults Preparing for Exams: I employ HSK or other relevant textbooks, explaining key points and transforming them into compelling stories to enhance comprehension and retention. Additionally, I recommend entertaining Chinese videos and songs post-class to sustain motivation. Adults for Work: For adults needing Chinese for their professional lives, I use Business Chinese textbooks and tailor lessons to include specialized vocabulary. We practice work-related dialogues and writing, aiding in effective communication with colleagues and the handling of documents and emails. My personal experience working abroad allows me to understand and address these challenges effectively. Travel or Hobby Enthusiasts: I’ve been to many places, so I understand your needs when you arrive in a new place. Additionally, I’ve lived abroad for a long time, so I also understand the importance of everyday conversational skills. Therefore, if you are planning to travel, reside in China, or simply wish to learn Chinese as a hobby, I offer short-term courses that focus on daily conversational skills.
