Hi there! My name is Katie McMillan and I currently live in Nebraska. I just moved here this year and so far I love it. I just turned 25 and found out that I am newly pregnant. My husband and I just got married in April but we are so excited to meet our baby in December. I also work part time in a vet clinic but in my spare time I love to read, take my 2 dogs for walks, or just relax at home. I look forward to getting to know each person individually and can't wait to start helping others. My main teaching experience comes from serving a mission for my church in Scotland and Ireland for 2 years. I taught people and children from many different backgrounds and countries. I enjoy being able to help people learn and love to watch as they progr In my lessons I like to focus on the student. Before starting anything I find out what they are comfortable with, what they know, and what it is they want to focus on. If they are unsure what exactly that is that's not a problem! We can start at the beginning. Before I move on from any one subject I ensure that a student understands what we have talked about. I will come up with examples or scenarios as a sort of quiz and ask the student to use what we have just learned or covered. At the end of a lesson if we have covered multiple things I will do a recap and an overall quiz to gauge recollection. Should I have an ongoing weekly meeting with a student we will do a quick review at the beginning of the lesson to ensure retention.
