Hello my name is Noms, I am 25 years old and I am from South Africa. I know 6 languages and English being the first. I love learning and developing myself and others. My goal is to learn the languages Spanish and Mandarin.
I am a musician by talent and currently learning a piano. I am good with my hands. I love baking and making clothes through sewing, crocheting and knitting.
I love meeting new people, learning about them, their cultures and trying out different activities and new food. I love traveling and I dream of owning a motorhome one day.
My current favorite series and movies are; Akeelah and the Bee, The Triumph, Modern Family, Young Sheldon and Blakish. My favorite singer is Jennifer Hudson and Neyo.
I hold an Associate's degree in Accountancy and a TEFL certification of 120 hours. I have tutored Mathematics and Accounting to high school students informally. I have also tutored English, Maths, and Life Skills to primary students at a community center.
In my classroom, we will look at basic communication skills. These include being able to speak and listen. Lessons will be based on Grammar, Pronunciation, Reading, and Spelling.
I also offer Business English conversational lessons to help you practice.
We will make use of everyday life examples to help you understand and grasp the language better.
My teaching style is often based on how my students learn.
-I am kind, understanding, and patient. I am a real-life teacher, therefore there will be lots of day-to-day life examples to ensure that students understand and grasp the language better.
- My goal is for students to use the language independently, this is through a lot of Student talk time than Teacher talk time.
- I use a lot of communicative languages (TPR and lots of visuals) and direct methods. This is to encourage the students to learn through solving problems, tackling assignments, and participating in role-playing and general topic discussions.
